The Trek FX Sport SL 5 is a gravel bike built with a 400 Series OCLV Carbon frame, internal routing, 3s chain keeper, DuoTrap S compatibility, fender mounts, flat mount disc fitment, and a 135x5mm ThruSkew. It uses a carbon fork with hidden fender mounts, flat mount disc fitment, and a 100x5mm thru-skew.

The drivetrain uses a SRAM Apex 11-speed shifter with a SRAM Apex 1 long-cage rear derailleur and 42T max cog capacity. A Prowheel alloy crankset with a 42T narrow-wide ring pairs with a microSHIFT XLE 11-42 11-speed cassette and KMC X11 chain. Bontrager City pedals are included, and the frame supports a maximum 1x chainring size of 44T.
